Просвед је српска реч
Реч просвед данас углавном можемо чути или прочитати у вестима на хрватском језику, а у српском језику изузетно ретко је срећемо само код песника и књижевника. Ипак ова реч не само да није кроатизам већ је и активно коришћена у српском језику током 19. и почетком 20. века уместо речи протест. Просвед је словенска реч, кованица од речи pro + s + praslовенско vědъ, где vědъ значи видети, знати. Прегледањем старих српских књига, скенираних и окачених на интернет од стране google books, наилазимо на следеће примере употребе речи просвед:
